ANCEA recently announced creator and manga artist Atsushi Suzumi as guest for Sakura-Con 2011. Ms. Suzumi has crafted a number of series, including Amefurashi: The Rain Goddess, Haridama Magical Cram School – both of which were published through DelRey, and Venus Versus Virus, which was published through Seven Seas and later turned into an anime series. Sakura-Con is an annual three day gathering of enthusiasts and professionals interested in Japanese Animation (anime), comics (manga), and Japanese culture. The convention features a wide array of activities and programming such as: industry guests (both domestic and international), concerts, demonstrations, cosplay (costuming), contests, gaming, discussion panels and film screenings. These events run 24 hours a day to ensure non-stop entertainment and fill the entire WSCTT. Indeed, attendees may be afraid to sleep for fear of missing the fun!
ANCEA is a state and federal non profit organization dedicated to educating about traditional and contemporary Asian Media-with a special focus on Japanese anime, manga, music and gaming. ANCEA and Sakura-Con is entirely volunteer run, “for the fans, by the fans.”
